This pattern works well during a morning hatch, but is best in the evenings and on cloudy days. The target species are trout and grayling.

The hook size depends on the size of the natural insects that are found on the river. For example, in the Adirondacks and Southwestern Qubec size 12 and 14 work well, but on some European rivers and Alberta’s Old Man river size 16 and 18 are best.
