PT variant tie on Hanak 450bl jig hook and Hanak tungsten bead with Hends materials. This fly is made of a pheasant tail body with an orange tag butt, green flash ribbing, and a peacock dubbing color.

The main target fish species are trout and grayling but it’s an excellent option for chub, bass, and other fresh waters fish. This is my main fly to use at the beginning of the season but it’s working well all year round.

The best bead color according to my experience for this fly is Gold and Silver for regular types of water when the fish are fresh, and Bronze & Copper for the situation when water is highly pressured with fish more stressed. In all those situations don’t forget a big influence over the bead color is the clarity of the water the color of the river bottom and how sunny the day is.
