The Daiichi 1730hook was specifically designed to enhance the natural appearanceof stonefly nymph patterns. In older fly tying recipes, tierswould bend the hook shank of a typical 3X-long hook down, that way theflyexhibited a bent body more closely resembling the actual nymphs which bend between the thorax and abdomen when they free swim. Manually bending a hook always compromises the metal and isnever recommended. These hooks come pre-bent for perfect looking stonefly imitations.
