This fly is a classic Atlantic Salmon pattern that works great for steelhead. This is a great pattern for rivers that are off-color from glacial melt or rainfall and for fresh from the ocean summer run steelhead. Sometimes a smaller pattern also works for winter steelhead during our cold or dry snaps that make the rivers low and clear.
