The Summer Sculpin is a triple threat. I designed this fly originally for Alaska rainbow trout. The Summer Sculpin has all the ultra fishy and fish-friendly design details of the Dirty Hoh that is equally effective for trout, salmon, summer and winter steelhead. Bass can’t resist either.

Another Jerry French pattern, and just like Jerry’s steelhead flies, his trout flies utilize tying techniques to build a durable fly and a fly that has a profile that will not collapse in heavy water. Meat-eating trout are going to attack this fly, and we’d bet Steelhead would too.
