After spending my time guiding in Montana and central Wyoming, I set out to tie a versatile midge pattern by blending a few of my favorite patters.

I quickly came to realize that though I was aiming for a midge pattern, it fished better as a BWO.

When I told my friend Jameson about this, he told me that it reminded him of the Saturday Night Live spin off of McGyver in which the main character, McGruber, could not do anything right (hence the name).
